We recommend that newborn sessions are best done within the first 21 days – this is because baby’s are more sleepy and settled at this age, and haven’t yet lost that ‘curled up’ newness from being in the womb. However, if you have missed this window of opportunity, still get in touch, as with patience, planning and careful following of parent prep, gorgeous newborn galleries of older babies can still be achieved.
Our newborn sessions are baby led – so this means we don’t rush them and go at your baby’s pace. We allow time for feeding on arrival, top up feeds, soothing, settling and of course, posing. We allow up to 4 hours, although typically a session takes approx 2 hours.
When we secure a newborn session, we don’t arrange the actual date until you let us know your baby has arrived. Instead we use your due date as a guide – so we don’t book too many in around the same time, then once they are here, we can get you in the diary.
The props and outfits and the photographer are washable! And it’s happened so many times, we are used to it!
We have an extensive range of props and outfits, specifically designed for maternity and newborn sessions, we also have a small range of cute outfits for children up to approx 18 months for sitter sessions and cake smashes.
It is better to use our own professional props and outfits, however, if there is something special to you that you’d like included in your session, let us know and we can let you know if it will photograph well and is suitable.
We are more than happy to include siblings in newborn session shoots – that sibling bond is beautiful to capture. However the studio does get VERY warm and boring for siblings and they can disturb baby, so we do ask that they are only present for the first part of the session, to get their images taken.
Once your images have been edited, usually between 1 and 2 weeks after your session, you will receive an email link to your secure online gallery, where you have complimentary access for 7 days, and can choose which images and package you would like to buy.
We offer interest-free payment plans on all packages . We will split your package price into payments that are manageable to you – you receive your order once the final balance has been paid.
